Beginning on January 25th, Empowered Yoga will offer weekly meditation classes on Fridays from 6 – 7:30 p.m. Where yoga trains the body, meditation trains the mind. We are delighted to offer this complementary discipline to enrich your experience at Empowered Yoga.
The class will be based on the practice of mindfulness-awareness, which is the foundation of all meditation. Each class will begin with formal meditation instruction, followed by intervals of sitting practice, walking meditation, discussion, and readings drawn from the contemplative tradition. The class is open to all levels of yoga students and is non-sectarian in orientation.

| This class will be taught by Alison Driscoll, who began meditating in the early 80s and began teaching meditation in the mid -90s through Shambhala International. She has spent time in group and solitary meditation retreats over the years and says: “The world would be a much different and better place if everyone experienced the simple and profound impact of a meditation practice.” Alison, whose professional background is in holistic health and communications, recently moved with her husband to Wilmington from Boston. |
