I came to Empowered Yoga two years ago looking for a way to manage a “bad back”. While I am certainly happy that yoga helped my back condition, I am even more grateful for the more extraordinary benefits of yoga, a sense of stillness, calm and acceptance in what is often a painful and confusing world.  The poet, Wordsworth wrote:
 
“The world is too much with us; late and soon,
Getting and spending, we lay waste our powers;
Little we see in Nature that is ours;
We have given our hearts away…”
 
For me, yoga is the antidote to the craziness of the world. Yoga helps me reclaim my heart and the beauty of nature, reminding me that life is not just about getting and spending. Yoga opens me to the possibility of being more open and alive in the moment and makes me more aware and grateful for the power of connecting with my breath, body and being.
